# The Timeline Editor [Motion Studio](#/help/studio-motion-studio) animates a design into a short video using a **timeline** of tracks. ## Tracks & clips Each piece of media — a [design layer](#/help/studio-design-editor), an uploaded or [stock](#/help/studio-stock-media) clip, music, or a voiceover — sits on a **track** as a **clip**. Stack tracks so visuals, captions, and audio play together. ## Edit clips - **Trim** — drag a clip's edges to change when it starts and ends. - **Split** — cut a clip at the **playhead** into two editable pieces. - **Move / reorder** — drag clips along the timeline or between tracks. ## Duration & frame rate Set the overall **duration** and a **frame rate** of 24, 30, or 60 fps. The playhead scrubs the timeline so you can preview any moment. ## Add motion Animate layers over time, then layer in [audio](#/help/studio-stock-media), a [voiceover and captions](#/help/studio-voiceover-captions), and finally [export the video](#/help/studio-video-export).
