Shadows, glows, bevel, gradient overlay, blend modes, and 3D text.
# Layer Effects & Styles **Layer styles** add depth and polish to any [layer](#/help/studio-layers) in the [Design Editor](#/help/studio-design-editor) without flattening or destroying the original element. ## Shadows & glows - **Drop shadow** — a cast shadow behind the layer; tune color, distance, angle, blur, and opacity. - **Inner shadow** — a shadow inside the edges for a pressed/inset look. - **Outer glow** and **inner glow** — soft colored halos outside or inside the layer, great for neon and acid-green accents. ## Stroke, bevel & overlays - **Stroke** — an outline of any width, color, and alignment. - **Bevel** — adds highlight/shadow to imply a raised, beveled edge. - **Gradient overlay** — paint a multi-stop gradient across the layer and choose its angle and blend. - **Color overlay** — tint the whole layer a single color. ## Blend modes Each layer has a **blend mode** (normal, multiply, screen, overlay, and more) that changes how its pixels combine with the layers beneath. Pair a blend mode with opacity for tasteful texture and lighting effects. ## 3D text Text layers support a **3D text** treatment — extruded depth with an adjustable angle and depth color — for bold, dimensional headlines. Combine it with the font controls in [text & fonts](#/help/studio-text-and-fonts). ## Stacking effects You can stack several styles on one layer (for example stroke + drop shadow + gradient overlay). Save a look you like as part of a [template](#/help/page-builder-templates) or [brand kit](#/help/studio-brand-kit) to reuse it.
